Three steps towards greater health and immunity!!!
3 ways to build better health and immunity this season!
The old saying goes: “The knee bone is connected to the thigh bone.” Right? But did you know that your gut microbiome is linked to your lung microbiome..? Did you know that you have a lung or pulmonary microbiome? Your lungs are lined with microbes (mostly friendly we hope!) that help your lungs keep their internal environment balanced and healthy. In an unhealthy state, your respiratory system can have overgrowths of bacteria, viruses, fungus, mold and parasites. In a synergistic way, your lung microbiome is linked to your gut microbiome.
Gut microbes support your respiratory health by sending immune responses to the lungs and sinus. When the gut receives signals from the eyes, ears, nose and throat..via swallowing.. that they have encountered air born pathogens or antigens … the gut sends immune responses or antibodies to fight the invader. The gut produces the immune responses and sends them to the sinuses and lungs where the infection is active! The gut signals the inflammatory and immune response you feel in your nose, eyes and lungs.
We continue to discover that the gut is the foundation of all health mental, emotional and physical. Did you know that 70% of all serotonin (the feel good hormone that is in anti-depressant SSRI-drugs) is created in the gut? And you can treat depression and anxiety by balancing the gut microbiome?
Research has shown that people who have COPD and other respiratory illnesses are more likely to have an unbalanced gut microbiome. People who have an unhealthy gut are more likely to experience allergies, asthma, eczema, joint pain, brain fog, head-aches, neurological issues and more. If you want to stay healthy this winter and beyond you have to think about your gut health.
The first step is reducing inflammatory foods (sugar, junk foods, wheat, dairy, corn, soy, tree nuts, shell fish). The second step is taking fermented foods (saurkraut, kombucha, miso, yogurt, kim chee and natural vinegar) and the third step is supplementing with probiotics..
For probiotics I recommend Megasporebiotic….and IGG2000 from Microbiomelabs. Together they actually help to recondition the gut and reduce inflammation.
