Sunday lunch was an inspiration from the Macrobiotic days of 40 years ago. I was teaching food as medicine back then. Everyone agrees now that increasing more organic local vegetables, high-quality fats, good protein from organic animal or vegetable sources is the way to be healthy. Avoiding all sugar, processed foods, poor quality carbohydrates and oils, staying away from wheat and too much cow dairy helps the blood sugar, metabolism and keeps the body healthy. We knew it back then and we know it now. Lunch: Organic brown rice, baked beans, pressed cabbage and carrot salad, poached kale, roasted Brussels sprouts and Arame seaweed!
