My daughter died two years ago from a drug overdose. Before her death she was working on a farm. She was in love with the farm donkey and talked about the joy she felt in knowing him. The day before her death, I bought her a vintage rhinestone donkey pin. Obviously she never got to wear it.

I just recently remembered the Traditional Chinese Medicine healing sounds of the heart and pericardium. I realized that Hee, the healing sound of the pericardium and Haw the sound of the heart, put together creates Hee Haw..

So, as the second anniversary of her passing draws near, my heart healing Donkey Mantra has appeared. I accept this mantra with cosmic humor. I smile and laugh.

I trust my daughter, where ever she is, in the great heavenly beyond, appreciates this humor. She too, benefits from the silliness of it. It heals us both.

The timing and synchronicity offers me peace beyond suffering.

I found the pin and am wearing it.

In my experience, grief is pain with little balm at its core. Time, focussing on the present moment, acceptance and yielding to a bigger picture is helpful. Finding joy and gratitude in life is key.

Staying connected to those you love, with love, is healing beyond space and time.

Here is more information on channeling your inner donkey. Laughter is the best medicine.

Healing sounds have long been part of ancient traditions, offering a simple yet powerful way to support emotional and physical well-being. Among these sounds, "Hee" and "Haw" stand out for their connection to the heart and pericardium, two vital components of our emotional and energetic system. Combining these sounds into the mantra "Hee Haw" invites a playful yet profound approach to healing, with the donkey as a symbol of resilience and groundedness. This post explores how embracing the "Hee Haw" mantra and the spirit of the donkey can support your heart and pericardium health.

Understanding the Heart and Pericardium in Healing

The heart is often seen as the center of emotion, love, and vitality. The pericardium, a protective sac surrounding the heart, plays a crucial role in shielding it from stress and external influences. In traditional healing practices, these two are closely linked, and their balance is essential for emotional stability and physical health.

  • The heart governs feelings of joy, compassion, and connection.

  • The pericardium acts as a barrier, protecting the heart from emotional overwhelm and physical strain.

When either is out of balance, people may experience emotional distress, anxiety, or even physical symptoms like tightness in the chest. Healing sounds like "Hee" and "Haw" can help restore harmony by gently stimulating these energetic centers.

The Power of Healing Sounds: "Hee" and "Haw"

Sound healing uses vocal vibrations to influence the body’s energy fields. Each sound resonates with specific organs or energy centers, promoting relaxation and healing.

  • "Hee" is the healing sound for the pericardium. It encourages the release of tension and supports the protective energy around the heart.

  • "Haw" is the healing sound for the heart itself. It opens the heart space, inviting love, warmth, and emotional openness.

By chanting these sounds, you create vibrations that can help clear blockages and restore balance. The combination "Hee Haw" becomes a powerful mantra that addresses both protection and openness, a balance essential for emotional health.

Why Choose the Donkey as Your Spirit Animal?

The donkey is often misunderstood but carries deep symbolic meaning. Known for its patience, endurance, and grounded nature, the donkey teaches us to stay steady and persistent through challenges.

  • Donkeys symbolize resilience and humility.

  • Donkeys are often loud and shameless in expressing their feelings and needs.

  • Donkeys are strong and stubborn.

  • They remind us to be patient with ourselves during healing.

  • Their steady pace encourages us to move forward without rushing.

Choosing the donkey as a spirit animal aligns perfectly with the "Hee Haw" mantra. Just as the donkey’s bray sounds like "Hee Haw," it embodies the balance of protection and openness, strength and gentleness.

How to Use the "Hee Haw" Mantra in Daily Practice

Incorporating the "Hee Haw" mantra into your daily routine can be simple and effective. Here are some practical steps:

  1. Find a quiet space where you can sit comfortably without distractions.

  2. Take a few deep breaths to center yourself.

  3. Chant "Hee" slowly and clearly for several breaths, focusing on the area around your heart and pericardium.

  4. Switch to "Haw", allowing the sound to open your chest and heart space.

  5. Repeat the sequence "Hee Haw" for 5 to 10 minutes, or as long as feels good.

  6. Visualize the donkey as your spirit guide, steady and calm, supporting your healing journey.

This practice can be done in the morning to set a positive tone for the day or in the evening to release stress and tension.
